gluten free All Purpose Flour
Question for fellow gluten-free eaters?
I am allergic to gluten. I can't have wheat. I found this recipe that I really want to make. However, it calls for some pretty unusual ingredienta. The first is xanthan gum. This is supposed to stabalize your food. A freind told me that this was completley unnessary though. Is it? If it is nessacry would unflavored gelatin be a good sub? Othe ingrediants included brown rice flour and tapioca flour. Is it okay if I use gluten-free all purpose flour in the place of these two items? The all purpose flour contains the tapioca flour but no brown rice-flour. Please help. SOON!
I would keep the Xanthum gum but if you want you can use the gf all purpose flour. I have found that the different flours all have pluses and minuses when you deal with them. My favorite combination for making a pudding is quinoa and almond flour mixture. Go ahead and try the substitution and if it doesn't work out, go back to the original recipe the next time. Have fun with it!!!
